The P-word

Prom. the mandatory post. Finally, it happened. Finally, it's over. ^_^ Months of preparation (for some), and then everything ending in a colorful burst of light in a little over five hours. Fun, nevertheless. Everyone was all dressed up and glamorous, with quirky variations courtesy of the seniors. Tim had his hair revamped, and Jessica looked very pretty. Haha. Prom princess! lol. Cy, despite the fixing up and the suit, still did not look straight. =P And Lorenz was the metrosexual of the moment. Yay! (You should've been the prince. Seriously.) Highlights included Egg's bright yellow gown, and the insufferably handsome Cyrus Cruz, who gave himself away to the public for free. Such a generous, generous posterboy. (line up, ladies.)

Yes. Everyone kept calling me jennifer love hewitt, O_o and once, princess diana (lol). Digicams were brandished, poses were made, and everyone smiled for the cameras. Yay, New York. The ice sculpture of the statue of liberty melted in a corner, as juniors and seniors milled about, basking in the prom-ness of the night.

The dance floor was too small. (insert cotillion here) As we sat down to recoil at our performance, I noticed Sir Dance Instructor come around and talk to egg...hm, wonder what he thought of it. lol. Our last move was extremely spur-of-the-moment, (after two days of thinking about it...it was spur of the moment. haha.) but despite um, everything, I think it went well. At least nothing slipped off. Haha. Yay. I commend erik for putting up with a klutzy dance partner. :P Whee.

Prom was fun, to be frank. Very fun. It felt incredibly short because five hours is simply not enough. I guess they should have extended the dancing time a little bit, but then, before we knew it, the clock struck twelve, and all the cinderellas of the night had to leave before the fairy godmother's magic wore off. And again, to the gentleman who had to put up with being by date, thank you. ^_^

Thus it ends with a much-loved song:

I Will
(Lennon/McCartney)

Who knows how long I've loved you
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime
If you want me to--I will.

For if I ever saw you
I didn't catch your name
But it never really mattered
I will always feel the same.

Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
Love you whenever we're together
Love you when we're apart.

And when at last I find you
Your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you
Make it easy to be near you
For the things you do endear you to me
You know I will
I will.

*photos will follow shortly. ^_^
