Day Three

Okay. I haven't posted the pics yet. :P Later....muchmuch later..

Today was the first eventful day, but I still slept in. It was less cold (black turtlenecks forever!) and for some inexplicable reason, my nose began to peel. (too much blowing, probably) We went to the J. Paul Getty museum today. The galleries were HUGE, the gardens were modernistic and lovely, and there was CACTI EVERYWHERE!!!!! ^_^ Small cacti, large cacti, cacti overlooking Los Angeles, rose-shaped cacti, and yes, even cacti that didn't look like cacti. Lovely were the trees that hung down yellowly like willows do, and so was the clear blueblueblue sky. The museum itself is work of art. Positioned on top of a hill, it is a spectacle of modern architecture. And for some reason, even when we were huddling for warmth in the cold warm windy sunshine, I felt like I was at the beach.

Ohyes. We were able to view "the" paintings in the history of modern art. I'm talking Monet, Renoir, Rembrandt and VAN GOGH. Hail the earlobeless master. His painting "Irises" hung in one of the galleries of the museum and is the main attraction. There were no security barricades, no bodyguards, nothing! ^_^ Just the painting hanging on the wall. Wonderful, isn't it? :)

Father is currently downstairs with a gaggle of former highschool classmates. They're noisy and fun and catching up on a LOT of things. All are married and most have kids. This leads me to wonder if some 07 people will someday meet like this, in the living room of a nice house in LA. :) Possibly, Probably. I got to chat with people today. Tim is playing kol and Cy asks for rocks from Niagra falls. ^_^ THat's all for now. We leave for SF0 on Saturday. It's my cousin Tiffany's eleventh birthday tomorrow, and according to her, we are going ice skating.

Lomita. The First Day.

Hi...hi.. I'm in the states...finally. After a LONG, grueling 15 hour flight with the inflight movie replayed thrice and mediocre airline food courtesy of PAL, we arrived. In Los Angeles. At night. The weather wasn't too cold at the airport when Uncle Ding picked us up, but upon arriving at the Hotel Roldan (auntie chit's house) a blast of cold air sent my already-runny nose into overdrive. -_- Yeah. I got sick the day before we left. Argh.

Sooo...it's 11:33 in the morning here (I woke up at 10...the jet lag isn't too severe) and the parents are still asleep. The cousins are at school, and Siopao, the dog is running around in the patio. It's still cold, and I've got a lovely cough now, but other than that, everything is fine. ^_^ There isn't much to write about yet, since we haven't done anything remotely significant. Photos shall be posted on multiply later this week.

Happy summer vacation, everyone!

The Last

Here's the last post from the land of Hotness. A lot happened during the week, and I hope it ends tomorrow. It MUST end tomorrow. Or else. 0_0

Removals. I passed! Hooray. Here's to another long, grueling, mind-boggling and inexplicably fun year at Pisay. I'm just happy... and I hope all the other people passed as well...

Dia thing. We went to Cy's house for a day. Some people went swimming in his pool, and lay down on his hammock, and repeatedly played the songs of Avenue Q on his computer. We ate delicious spicy curry, and went out to Glorietta for a round of arcade games and studio pics and stuff. Tim introduced me to the extremely fun 'Time Crisis', and Ia was almost killed by a bus, due to Cy's haphazard highway-crossing skills. (and Mark Jason is a hero.) It ended nicely, anyway. We were all dead tired, wearily disembarking from the MRT, and Vincent walked me home, Pito's orders. Haha. ^_^ Thanks for a fun time, dia.

The Quest for the noncactus Cactus. Cyrus is a lifesaver. I wasn't able to buy a cactus in the early morning, so he accompanied me to Manila Seedling to purchase the lovely plant. It doesn't even look like a cactus, but very pretty nonetheless. We got a small pot, and everything was wonderful. I hope you take good care of it, erik. Happy Birthday. :)

Clearance. ALMOST DONE!!! Now for the grueling task of creating the cartoon likenesses of every single one of the Mg people, plus Sir Nat. The EngJourn clearance is a little harder to come by, but who cares? Freedom is 4 signatures away!!!!!!! xD

quote of the day:

Over

I didn't get a chance to write about the Pinoy sonnets yesterday, but I guess there's nothing much to say about it, except that it was nerve-wrecking, depressing, and that the people around me had to deal with more whining than usual.

Removals are over, but the results have yet to be revealed. I'm hoping and praying. If I pass, I'm free for the summer. If I don't, then I'm free for the rest of my life. ;-)

I can't wait for clearance to end. Well, actually, I can, but I'd rather do something vaguely productive. Like paint and stare at the sky. Or not. Plots are brimming, and a Matrix poster has been created. Life is taking a slightly questionable turn, but I'm not saying anything about it yet. Sometimes I wish I were Cinderella.

The Tipping Point

Dear Lord, please let me do my best tomorrow. Please guide me and give me wisdom so that I can pass the exam. If I really do belong in Pisay, I pray that your will be done. Thank you for being with me in Pinoy today. Thank you, Lord, for helping me get onto the stage and...talk. Goodnight, Lord God. Amen.

hope.

Today it exploded in my face. Goodbye pisay. And surprisingly, I was calm about it. Too calm. When sir dropped the bomb, all I could do was blink and interject, holding my head as if it was the worst thing in the world, but it wasn't. Broke the news to robert, and he was more depressed than I was. Jira shook me and demanded to know why I was so calm.

This is the last chance. I pray that I won't screw this up. But so much effort amounting to nothing is frustrating, and eventually, you tire. Tire of the world, tire of pisay, tire of running around day to day, and sleeping half the time. I surprised myself. Apparently, even caring about my grades required some effort. 'So what if I have to take the test?' 'So what if I don't pass?' There is no back up plan, ladies and gentlemen, but somehow, maybe this uncanny calmness stemmed from something I realized a long time ago; I don't really belong here. So is this goodbye? I hope not. I hope not. >,<

He who has never hoped can never despair.

Sunday

Sunday, today is sunday...sunday, sunday, what a happy day... -_-

I won't be able to attend LC/DC this summer, due to the triptothestates. So there, it is known. I am leaving, therefore, I am not going to be able to insert myself into a small, airconditioned and highly standardized review center to study for the whole summer. Instead, while the rest of the Philippines pores over page after page of multiple-choice tests, I am going to ...fly... and take tons of pictures and be as lazy as I want to be, all the while counting sixteen-wheeler trucks on the highway and downing rootbeer and pepperoni pizza (oh the memories).

But. I won't be able to go to camp. =( And I won't be able to study (cough) and I wont be able to...rot in the house doing nothing. So I suppose, going to the states is somewhat of a good thing. Maybe. I shall search for Tim's Chips in Oregon (...maybe?) and get something for robert (NOT "non-childfriendly viewing material) and something that is not a cactus nor an "I <3 NY" mug for erik. And of course, stuff for the other front lob people. And did I mention take tons of pictures? ^_^

...

Summer is here. And it is very hot.
