It's All Good (graduation post)

What can I say? The wait is over, and we're finally done. It was a fun four years of hell. Which later on, turned into a heaven of sorts. I don't regret a lot. In fact, I marvel at how God works His threads; at first it is confusing, and then, at the end, when you see the big, colorful tapestry, everything makes sense and is quite beautiful. Thank You, Lord. I survived. It was wonderful.

I'll miss 07. All the wonderful friends, teachers, and special person people. I do believe the grad song tells the story best.

To lack of inspiration
Cramming papers
Making something out of nothing
To failed Econ tests
What I’d give to do it over and over again
Or maybe not
Looking back on all the long nights
MUs, brotherhood, sisterhood
It’s all good
So let’s all walk together
To places we barely know
Take a step, take a stroll
We’ve got all this to show
Even though we can’t stay
I’ll see you ‘long the way
At least we’ll always know
Where to find home

:'(

I don't think I've ever cried this hard before.

It's 4 in the morning. I can't...

I stared at the ceiling. Lord, why? Isn't there any other way?

It hurts. So bad.

Apprehension? Yes.
Confusion? Yes, still.

See?

I can already imagine you.

"Tae ka!"

I can also imagine me.

"Sorry. I don't want things to get out of hand..."

Imagining him also helped a lot.

"I move towards option 2."

It's a battle of want and practicality.

Right now, want mixed with practicality overrules everything.

I can't think anymore.

I just want to be happy. Or something.

The Difficulty of Being

I can't help but cry because there is no other way out of this.

The diffculty of being under layers and layers of secrets is that it you feel that it's alright, get used to that feeling, and then are pulled out into the rude bright light of the world. And after that you realize and regret, and restart. The difficulty of being chosen to live a life that has standards, a life that carries the name of the Savior, is that others will see you with that Mark, and know that you are different. The hardest part of living is living without compromise.

It's a strange place, the world. It's a wonderful, deceptive "things-are-never-what-they-seem" kind of place. With all kinds of temptations, all kinds of situations that complicate existence. It will be hard, what is going to happen. If your eye causes you to sin, then gauge it out. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. Easier said than done. Easier said than done.

It's been obvious. For the past few months i've been compromising, and perhaps not just in terms of relationships with other people. I have found out, that it is, horrendously easy to let yourself fall into the trap where feelings affect decisions, and where your line of sight is so screwed up that you can't think straight; that you cannot see the big picture anymore. And this, my friends, is the big picture: I shouldn't be doing this. We shouldn't be doing this.

Because even if we're young and intelligent, we can also be incredibly blind and stupid. I am guilty of being. Incredibly blind. And stupid. And guilty of compromising, and guilty of leading you on. This should stop. Tears should stop now. Everything is going to fade. And it will hurt so bad.

Oddity

Last night, I dreamt that I was in a bookstore with my family. It looked like Shopwise, but it was a bookstore.
I was looking for the mints. Mint chocolates, mind you. I found my way into the chocolate section, and found the mints, but they were in little books--mostly about love and weddings and stuff. I opened a small purple book and found that there were two purple mints inside.

Abby called me and said that they were leaving. I nodded and moved to the next section, where there were children's books. One book caught my eye. It was big and white and silver, and had an illustration of a woman clad in a blue cloth and white headwrap standing in a river, holding up an animal by its tail. The book's title was "The Fox Murderer" I was intrigued--why would a children's book be called The Fox Murderer? Anyway, I picked up the book, and at the same time, saw the van in at the entrance of the bookstore/Shopwise.

I opened the book anyway. It turns out that the woman on the cover was actually a man. And he did not have black hair, but "diamond" hair (meaning blonde) The man was an ex-convict who stumbled into a river (this part of the dream gets blurry) and was somehow taken into a native-american-eqsue tribe. He lived with them and married and had a daughter; and his wife looked a lot like Queen Gorgo from 300. One day, a caravan came down the river, with an old small man with glasses and white hair wearing a purple wizard's robe driving it. He demanded for the man and told him to do his magic.
He handed the man a thin, dark brown, scared-looking dog and told him to kill it like he did foxes. The whole tribe watched as the man held the dog uncertainly, not knowing what to do.

The book becomes boring and I put it back on the shelf. But I can't help but feel a little disturbed. The van is nowhere to be seen. So i'm left in the bookstore.

MY phone vibrates thrice. Ria and Erik and Jira. I wake up for a few minutes, and then go back to sleep.

No more dreams follow after.

Red Hot

Intrams 07-

Go red! hot! scorpions!

And the first time I've played soccer in my entire life.

I learned a few things.

Damn, it's hot out there. And it hurts when you accidentally kick a soccer shoe- clad foot.

The field is a slippery place and you don't know when to fall. And when you do fall-(like chrissy and liean and paola and me and a bajillion other people-) it hurts. O_O

I protect my square. When the ball rolls into the square, I kick it out. This, apparently, is not what a midfielder is supposed to do.

But then, there were other sports besides soccer. Like Volleyball, for instance. Yes, le red people were quite good at both. And Jovi and Zie and James were effective cheerleaders.

Intrams was not without casualties.

Like when Erik kicked Mark in *thatplace* (purely accidental. x.x or so it seems.)
Or when Karizz nearly fainted in the middle of the basketball game.
And when Paola scraped her knees, and Liean scraped her knees and Chris scraped his knees, and when Paola earned back pains from being a forward--

But not without scoring us a goal. :D Go Paola.

Today was the day I gave Robert my skirt for his growing collection; the day AJ rocked my socks with his professional burping; the day we lost to orange and black--(4thplaceyay.)

Andandand...erik brought Lemon! *jump*

PS.

c/o Cy. Never kick with your toes. x.x

9 Plays, 5 Days. (part two.)

Les Miserables

Staged by Tau, and the first of the musicals. Based on the novel by Victor Hugo, Les Miserables centers around the life of ex-convict Jean Valjean (Ivan Clement) and the people around him, set during the tumultuous period of the French Revolution. The problem with musicals is that they are a huge production to take on; the audience depends on the clarity of the actors' singing voice, which depends on the sound system. Technical difficulties aside, there were some sweet moments in the play, like chocolate chips in a cookie. (lol) Ivan played Valjean, as mentioned above, and with young Cosette at his side (Peachy Arines), you couldn't help but "awww" with everyone else. Peachy's performance tugged very much at your heartstrings. She was incredibly cute. (*sniff*). The pair that won me over, however, was Ramon Marfil and Joji Mendoza as the Thenardier couple. They provided a burst of comic relief from an otherwise dramatic and...very long...musical. Directed by the renowned Jessica Morado.

The Phantom of the Opera

This was, with no doubt, the most awaited of the musicals as far as 07 is concerned. Andrew Lloyd Webber's beloved musical about a vengeful opera ghost is one of his most celebrated creations. When taking on a production such as this, one must deliver. And yes, Charm did deliver. Quite well, in fact. The pivotal starting moment was when the spotlight centered on the spinning chandelier suspended from the ceiling. 0_0 And then the play unfolded. Yes, every musical is riddled with technical difficulties, and Phantom was no exception. I wish we were able to hear Garrick sing, as his voice fell victim to a lapel mike unstuck. Noooo. Janel, as expected, delivered a chilling number, hitting beautiful and precarious high notes as the audience sat dumbly. Justin Romasanta played the title role, and he did justice to the Phantom. His voice alone was exceptional. One of my favorite moments in the play was the Masquerade. We were concentrating on the dancers--and then Justin leaps out of the seat beside the one in front of me. Crap. 0_0 Where'd he come from? Performances were excellent, although the character that struck my fancy was Carlotta, played by Jackie. >.> The role fit her like a glove, and the singing and acting seemed awfully natural. *applause* Congratulations Charm, for braving a rather large and daunting task. Directed by Jackie Canlas and Garrick Bercero.

Oz and West Side Story to come later. :D

9 Plays, 5 Days. (part one.)

A review of each play. Hopefully.

TGIS: Thank God It's Sunday

An evangelical musical about the lives of each member of a youth fellowship. Directed by Mark Gicain. There was heartfelt singing and dancing, with music recreated from scratch by the extremely talented Sam Simon. Presented at the SSA Theatre, the musical was a good effort presented by the DCBCYF. Although there were some technical difficulties, everything came off nicely. Sure, a few of us slipped with the lines, but that was it. Not the most extravagant of productions, but it served as a blessing to me, and hopefully, to our audience.

10 Things I Hate About You

A play based on a movie based on a play. The movie starred Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles, with a storyline based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Muon undertook the task of adapting the movie into a play. The lead roles were Jan Mikes as Patrick, Rikka Fernandez as Kat, Liean Eugenio as Bianca, Jerome David as Cameron, and Cyrus Cruz as Joey. And I was the bartender! Yay! (lol) Anyway, all I can say about Vladymuon's last production was that it was simple, clean, and well done. :D Props transitions were ok, acting was ok...It was fun, and everyone was happy. Directed by the multi-awarded Dane Leonardo.

A Midsummer Night's Dream

I wasn't able to watch this one, which was presented by Photon. T.T Jira and I were doing the final paper in the girls' dorm. However, I heard that it was a nice presentation, with beautiful costumes and VERY memorized lines. I wish I'd seen it. Theater Class '06 did it last year; it was very entertainting. One of Shakespeare's more lighthearted works. If only. -_- (I wanted to watch Celine. Or something. >.> *sniffu*)

Love is the Doctor

Directed by the great Ryan Magtibay. This is, by far, the funniest class play I've seen. Well, it is a comedy. Electron, as always, delivers a clean and substantial performance, driven by two amazing (and previously undiscovered) acting talents, Justin Valencia 0_0 and Adelle Santos. They were AMAZING. And very funny. Great acting; and Alba singing was just...ticklish. Wonderfully ticklish. Justin and Adelle were brilliant--other standouts, however, were Robert and the singing Alba. Jason playing the romantic was a novel idea, and at the same time, deliciously ironic. Bravo, Electron. It was short and sweet, leaving you with an apetite for more.

Cyrano de Bergerac:

A *French* play by Graviton. :D Zomg. I'm sorry, I wasn't able to catch this one either. I don't even know the title. 0_0 Cy did the music though, so it must have sounded pretty. =P Yes, I believe in Cy. I admit, it would have been interesting to listen to the soundtrack-- medieval music Cy-style? 0_0 cool.

the next four to follow. :D

Measure in Love

I went over to Monci's house for practice, and found Lito there. He and Jeremy were watching RENT, and so I joined in. It was fun..albeit...sort of...strange. I couldn't help but wince every time Maureen and Joanna..you know.. >.>

Anyway, it's been a wonderful, tiring series of practices and meetings for the DCBCYF Musical, and all our hard work (kuya mark's most of all) will pay off tomorrow. My hope is that the soul of the performance will get through to those we invited. =)

Ah, one can't help but write about the last days of our stay in school. I've ranted about this before, ("omg we're leaving! tundun!") but would like to add something. I enjoy it the most when we sit across from each other and talk about things. When we laugh, when I can't stop--when he's eating and eating and I'm indulging in something sweet (and bouncy). Those are the times I like best. When we talk and it doesn't have to mean anything; when we laugh and it doesn't have to be too funny--(underwear! x.x)

...just wanted to get that off my chest. :D

Bread Pan

Half-lovely

Tomorrow is the last perio ever. Today saw mostly Muon practice and STR work.

Junnius and Jed and Ervin stole gradpics from me today. But then I trade only. :D Tundun.

Muon 8 and the last STR oral report. Goodbye, The deveopment of a new culture medium for pleurotus sajor-caju using cellulose-rich materials. I definitely won't miss you. We do recommend, however, that future researchers foolish enough to continue our project start earlier during the year and do NOT steal water hyacinths from government sanctuaries because it is against the law. (Don't blame us--we didn't know.)

:D

I had a meaningful conversation with Jerome. Rather, a 5-minute meaningful conversation with Jerome. It reminded me that I should try harder to share one of the hardest things to share--because you don't know how that extremely special person will react. If you'll say it right. But then we just have to try again and again and again--

Truth is, i'm scared.

I bought Chris breadpan. I think it's the first time I bought Chris something. And before that, the first time I was tickled by Ervin. And yesterday, the first time I ate kikyam (courtesy Karizz) and dinuguan (Erik). The first time I watched the whole 10 Things I Hate About You; the first time Ryan mussed up my hair; the first time I didn't finish the book before an English perio.

Tomorrow is the last day. Yes, I will document it. Yes I will miss it. But most of all, I'll try my hardest to make the best out of it. :D
